Art Tour

Cape Grace tea and art

An exclusive guided exploration of the hotel’s art collection, complemented by selected works on loan from the highly regarded Norval Foundation. Led by Kate, the tour begins in the reception area and moves through key public spaces and upper floors, punctuated by a light afternoon tea of scones, mini sandwiches, and tea or coffee. This curated experience is known as T’art!

Cape Town–based interdisciplinary artist Leila Abrahams joins the experience, offering insight into her practice, which draws on lived experience of chronic illness. Using materials such as gel capsules and blister packs, she creates abstract, minimalist works that prompt reflection on invisible illness, empathy, and perception, while remaining visually striking through colour and form.

The hotel’s public spaces and signature suite are anchored by two major textile works by the Keiskamma Art Project, inspired by indigenous plants and flowers and acquired as the first artworks for the collection. Abstract works throughout the reception areas and corridors align with the interior redesign by 1508 London Design Studio.

Additional artworks, curated in partnership with the Norval Foundation, expand the collection with works by established, internationally represented South African artists.
