A perfect personalized walking tour of Cape Town I was staying on my own in Cape Town for a couple of days before joining a tour group. And a friend suggested I arrange a private walking tour with Kate of Culture Connect. It was really fabulous from start to finish. Kate asked me in advance what my interests were, and had planned out a route to take me through Company’s Garden and on into the city looking at all the incredible art and architecture along the way. Kate was a mine of information and happily answered all my many questions. We had so much fun looking at some of the many beautiful murals, and went into a couple of fascinating art museums where it was obvious that Kate was known by just about everyone. I can highly recommend Culture Connect SA to anyone wanting to explore this fascinating city.

Putting on the Ritz: Art Deco in Cape Town What a treat! Kate has organised a wonderful Art Deco (Cape Town) walking tour. I loved every minute of it. André (our Art Deco guru) is extremely knowledgable and makes the information accessible and entertaining. I've learned so much about "my" city, and recommend the tour without hesitation. Tips: - Arrive early to spend time in the Muller's museum - there is so much to see - as you might not be in the mood to revisit at the end. - Take snacks with you.

Culture Connect's tour of the William Fehr collection. I recently attended Culture Connect's tour of the William Fehr collection by Esther Esmyol. The art collection is like a peephole into colonial Cape Town and I really enjoyed connecting with other like-minded, enthusiastic people. I've also done the walking tour of Salt River's street art. Both tours were well organised and thought-provoking. These are not surface-level, overpriced tourist traps, but exceedingly interesting tours that really immerse you in the cultural scene of Cape Town. As a Capetonian, there was so much information I hadn't known before and I'm keen to go on the next tour to learn more.

Iziko National Gallery - Breaking Down the Walls exhibition Locals or visitors to Cape Town really should check out Culture Connect SA's programme of tours. I'm always amazed at Kate's depth of insight into the cultures, art and history of Cape Town and surrounds. Thank you, Kate, and curator Andrew, for the inspiring walk-about of Iziko National Gallery's Breaking Down the Walls exhibition. It was wonderful to see so many works, (old and new), from the Gallery's collection, juxtaposed and displayed in such a creative and thought-provoking way.

Wonderful way of seeing the Cape heritage Thank you so much for the very enjoyable and professional walking tour. You did an amazing job of keeping the large and somewhat idiosyncratic tour together and more or less on time as everyone wandered off to explore their own interests. The visits we a marvelous introduction to parts of Cape Town I had not visited for very many years (indeed- since I was a child in some cases). Your depth of knowledge and your alertness to cultural significance was impressive. Kate is very welcoming, knowledgeable and aware of the wonderful details we often miss as visitors.

Culture Connect at Murati wine estate As citizens of Cape Town, we have done a number of tours with Kate, always professional, well organised and excellent insights into the Cape arts, culture, heritage and architecture. Our latest was a tour to Murati wine farm, with excellent raconteurs, including the farm's generous owner, an intimate look at the manor house, wine tasting and a lunch. What more can one want on this beautiful, authentic Cape Winelands farm. Highly recommended.

A great Walking Tour with a difference. A good orientation of Cape Town street art. Without a knowledgeable guide, one won't be able to enjoy what's on offer. Kate Briggs is really in the know. She also gives one an in depth look at the artists as well. ????

Cape town street art tour The Salt River street art tour with Kate truly was the best way to spend 2hours. At each street corner a new piece of artwork unfolds and Katie accompanied by a local street artist that day provided us with all the knowledge and background for every artwork. The tour is an interesting way to learn about the history of the art, artists and history of the country and the neighborhood.

The tenuous development of a unique, multi-faceted culture at the Cape of Good Hope My friend and I joined Kate on a tour of the Bokaap in the late afternoon to catch the history of this unique and special place, and then break the Ramadan fast in the home of a Muslim family. It was inspiring and eye-opening to walk around this historic quarter and hear the combined story of the slaves and growth of Islam. Kate's tours always offer the unique aspect of engaging with fellow travellers whose experience informs and stretches my own.
