I will definitely join Kate on one of her future tour!!
I joined Kate & Alister @ Vergelegen wine estate yesterday morning for a enlightening & very interesting tour of the estate. The weather was cold, crisp & dry to begin with (one of those beautiful sunny winter days in the Western Cape) but warmed up quickly, as did my interest in the history of Vergelegen as we meandered through the Camelias, camphor trees & beautifully well kept gardens. Looking with new glasses at Cape Town
We did the Art Deco tour. Dr van Graan is very knowledgable, enthusiastic and connected very well with the diverse group. Group size just right. Beautiful starting point at Mullers Optometrist (with their own museum), very informative talk, and delicious coffee and croissants. Very well planned route of exactly the right duration. A meaningful tour of District Six!
My husband and I had a great tour of District Six with Tony Hartman. We met at the District Six museum after we did an overview, and then Tony told his fascinating story of his grandfather's forced removal. He then took us around the area, pointing out important historical sites. Because he knew we were interested in art, he took us to two local galleries where students were working, and we could see their material and the finished products of wonderfully crafted art. 🇫🇷 Je donne mon avis en français en tant que touriste dans cette magnifique ville : quoi de mieux que de la visiter, l’admirer et la comprendre avec une experte dans son domaine ? J’ai eu la chance de faire le musée Zeitz MOCAA avec Kate, et franchement c’était une expérience incroyable. Elle a pris la peine de nous ramener une experte et artiste pour la visite du Musée afin de nous plonger dans les meilleurs conditions le jour J. Cape Town art and architecture walking tour
Kate has incredible knowledge of South African art and architecture. We had the most amazing few hours walking the streets with Kate, discussing the art and architecture around us. We were honoured to meet some of her friends running art galleries and a coffee shop. We even had access to a home / studio and made some beautiful purchases which we will treasure. Beautiful gardens
A friend and I spent a wonderful Saturday morning with Kate and others on a tour of the Vergelegen Gardens in Somerset West. We were indulged with a most informative experience of the magnificent gardens by horticulturist Richard Arm. It was followed by a visit to the Homestead Manor and the library. Great walking tour in Cape Town, South Africa with Kate
I visited in September of this year, 2025, and had a lovely afternoon with Kate. We visited the Castle of Good Hope which was constructed in the 1600's by the Dutch. There was one exhibit I enjoyed at the castle. It was about all the various peoples that were brought into South Africa and assimilated into the indigenous population. I had no idea that this had occurred. Additionally, my husband enjoys military history, so he was happy to read about the events that led to the Dutch controlling South Africa for approximately 200 years. The Castle is a good choice if you enjoy history, but Kate will tailor the trip to wherever your interest lies. After the Castle we went and visited some local artisans that took us off the beaten path a bit. If you enjoy art, this might be something to consider asking about. And lastly, we walked thru the museum section of historic Cape Town and learned about important historical buildings, people and happenings. Overall, Kate is very knowledgeable about the history, the people and the artists of Cape Town. In addition, she had a pleasant personality, and I enjoyed our time together.

Super art and cultural guide!
Kate has been a wonderful guide through the murales and graffiti of Salt River and Woodstock neighborhoods. Her style is deep, but tight, and she is very careful to create your own experience based on your specific expextations and taste. Super recommended! ❤️
