Investec Cape Town Art Fair (2 places free)

Cape Town’s annual art fair is impressive and a must see for contemporary art fans. It can be overwhelming. This year it is larger with over 120 exhibitors.  International galleries exhibit alongside South African galleries, some with more than one booth in different sections.

Let me help you navigate it on the first day it opens to the public – Friday, 21 February 2025.

We start at 15h30 when the Fair is not too busy, unlike the preview and weekend. After the tour, 17h15/30 there is plenty of time to look round (and perhaps buy art) before it closes at 19h00.

We meet with a quick overview and background outside the Fair’s main entrance in the large CTICC corridor.

We start by visiting key galleries in the main section. Then move on to my favourite places, typically the not-for-profit and print sections.

I’ll introduce curators/gallery staff at key booths, and ideally, a few artists.

The group will be small.

R750 per person; but early bird paying pre Monday 17 February R620. This includes a day pass to the Fair R230 – R320.
