FIRED ceramics – 9h30 new start time
January 19, 2024 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
R400
With the very hot weather, Esther Esmyol’s tour will start at 9h30 not 10am. Esther curates and created this award winning exhibition. As the Iziko curator responsible for ceramics, Esther is one of country’s leading experts on ceramic works. She has worked with this national collection for many decades.
FIRED – an exhibition of South African ceramics is a semi-permanent exhibition in the old granary space in the Castle of Good Hope. It spans ancient to new, contemporary works, with a few from Europe and Asia.
Esther will bring to life the beauty and multilayered meanings of the works.
I am delighted that a few of my favourite Cape Town ceramicists have already signed up to come.
R400 per person or R300 per person, paying before Wednesday. The price excludes the small admission charge to the Castle, R50/25 for adults/reduced.
This tour is unlikely to be repeated for a while, if at all.
Do join us afterwards for a drink, light lunch.
