Erik Laubscher & Claude Bouscharain – waiting list

This beautifully designed new, small space has the feel of both a contemporary art gallery and house museum. Dedicated to artists Erik Laubscher (1927 – 2013) and his wife Claude Bouscharain (1922 – 2020), it has a mid century modern feel, in keeping with the style of their art.

Our host is one of the Foundation’s three trustees, Phillippa  Duncan, art consultant and founder of Vault Research. Phillippa runs this new space, which is generally not open to the public, unless by prior appointment. She led the creation of this new space, designed by architect Kevin Fellingham. Phillippa hosted a supper for Culture Connect here last August and at her home in 2022.

Working closely with Erik’s and Claude’s children, Phillippa will tell us how the space came into being. She will share her incredible knowledge of Erik’s and Claude’s work, including showing us paintings from the Foundation’s beautifully designed store.

For lunch we will use the dining table from the Laubscher’s home, 6 Cheviot Place in Green Point, which was sold a few years back.

R575 per person paying before August, then R750 per person. This includes a two course lunch and glass of wine.
