Vergelegen Garden (Camellias) – 26 July & 5 August

With over 1 000 camellias, Vergelegen is an International Camellia Garden of Excellence, the only one in Africa. Alistair, our guide who lives close by, helped propagate some of them. He is a full time tourist guide, with a passion for story telling, plants and propagating. He has fascinating stories about the history of this old estate, founded in 1700.  Hidden ship wreck treasure, British Royalty, Mandela’s VIP Anglo American plc dinner…

This will be the third year Alistair has led Culture Connects in Vergelegen Wine Farm’s beautifully kept and extensive gardens.
