Back by popular demand, landscape architect and university lecturer, Clare Burgess’ walking tour of Arderne Gardens – a small public gem of a park off Main Rd, in Claremont (almost Kenilworth). With its collection Champion Trees and huge exotics, unsurprisingly it is a Provincial Heritage Site. It was established way back in 1845 by Ralph Henry Arderne, a timber merchant originally from Cheshire, England (pictured below). – I will be giving a bit of history, but the focus will be on the landscaping – from the new and small to the majestic, huge trees (with a few surprises in-between).

I’m hoping being a Saturday we’ll see some of the wedding parties going there for pictures, as we leave. The outfits are amazing (and the joy).
