Private Walking Tours Cape Town – art, design and heritage focus

Get the inside track on living in South Africa, while seeing Cape Town’s sites and going where the locals go.

Depending on what you’re interested in, we’ll see where Cape Town started and how it developed from a place of hunter-gatherers and pastoralists (San,  Strandlopers and Khoe) to the bustling, cosmopolitan and diverse city of today.

The route typically includes places of power, faith, protest, creativity, commerce and struggle – public parks, government, galleries, design shops, markets, mosque, church, slave area, forced removals, public art, monuments and museums.

Visits to artist, designers and architects’ studios can be arranged, with 48 hours notice.

It is an opportunity to ask about all sorts, ranging from politics, traditions and justice to where to go for dinner, yoga or souvenirs.

Tours are typically two hours long and in the morning. For a studio visitor and museum walkabout, they are longer (or a different day).

Meeting and finishing point – can either be where you are staying or a landmark. This will be arranged in advance, ditto a driver, if walking is too much.
