Bo-Kaap walking tour and Cape Malay lunch
Local resident, community activist, and qualified guide, Bilqees Baker, takes us on a Bo-Kaap walking tour to private, sacred and public spaces. We visit the South Africa’s oldest mosque, Cape Town’s leading spice shop and the kramats (shrines). We’ll also learn about the country’s first political prisoners, slave history and community issues, especially large property developments.
We start outside the Iziko Bo-Kaap Museum, Wale St and finish with the option of a homemade Cape Malay lunch in a private home.
