Art Deco Tour in Central Cape Town

Led by heritage architect and expert, Dr André van Graan, our Art Deco tour focuses on outstanding examples of “moderne” architecture in Cape Town’s centre. We’ll go inside two Art Deco gems – the small shop still used for its original purpose, Mullers Optometrist, and Mutual Heights (the tallest building in Africa when it was built, 1939). We’ll see how Art Deco developed and flourished here.

This is one of Culture Connect’s most popular walking tours. For the first time, the event is being organised in partnership with Cape Town’s International Women’s Club (IWC).
