Art Deco Tour in Central Cape Town
Led by heritage architect, Prof Andre van Graan, our Art Deco tour focuses on outstanding examples of “moderne” architecture in Cape Town’s centre. We begin with a private viewing of Frank Spears’ artwork, the designer of Mullers Optometrist.
We then visit a range of buildings, including Mutual Heights (the tallest building in Africa when it was built, 1939). The main architectural style we’ll be concentrating on is Art Deco in its many manifestations.
Thank you to Stellenbrau for sponsoring the beer.
